Big Country Meets Small Town Warmth
Spanning nearly one million acres, Rocky View is nestled at the base of the foothills just east of the Rocky Mountains in southern Alberta. Our landscape consists of open prairie, rolling foothills, and spectacular views of snow-capped mountains in the distance.
With a large and diverse land area, Rocky View is home to hundreds of prosperous farms, small acreages, and various commercial developments such as natural resource extraction and light industry related to the petroleum sector. Part of the burgeoning Calgary Region, Rocky View has one of the largest common boundaries between a municipality and a city in Canada, surrounding the nation's fastest growing city—Calgary—on three sides: to the north, west, and east. Being the fourth largest municipality in Alberta, Rocky View shares borders with 14 other jurisdictions, including the City of Airdrie; the Towns of Crossfield, Cochrane, Chestermere, and Irricana; and the Village of Beiseker.
